Agreement Overview

By using Solomon Moving's services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before booking your move.

1. Service Agreement

Solomon Moving Ltd. ("Company", "we", "us") provides professional moving services throughout the Greater Vancouver Area. By booking our services, you ("Customer", "you") agree to these terms and conditions.

Our services include but are not limited to: residential moving, commercial moving, packing services, storage solutions, and related moving assistance.

2. Booking and Payment

2.1 Booking Process

  • All bookings require a written estimate and signed agreement
  • Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of issue
  • A deposit may be required to secure your moving date
  • Changes to the moving date must be made at least 48 hours in advance

2.2 Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed
  • We accept cash, certified cheque, and major credit cards
  • Additional charges may apply for services not included in the original estimate
  • Late payment fees may apply to overdue accounts

3. Customer Responsibilities

3.1 Preparation

  • Provide accurate inventory and access information
  • Ensure all items are properly prepared for moving
  • Disconnect and prepare appliances according to manufacturer instructions
  • Remove personal and valuable items not included in the move

3.2 Access and Parking

  • Provide clear access to both origin and destination
  • Arrange necessary parking permits if required
  • Notify us of any access restrictions or special requirements
  • Be present or have an authorized representative available

4. Liability and Insurance

4.1 Basic Coverage

Solomon Moving carries comprehensive liability insurance. Basic coverage is included at no additional charge, providing protection based on weight (not replacement value).

4.2 Full Value Protection

Full value protection is available for an additional fee. This coverage provides protection based on the declared value of your belongings.

4.3 Limitations

  • We are not liable for damage to items improperly packed by the customer
  • Certain high-value items require special declaration and handling
  • Claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery
  • We are not responsible for consequential or indirect damages

5. Prohibited Items

For safety and legal reasons, we cannot transport:

  • Hazardous materials (flammable, explosive, corrosive substances)
  • Perishable food items
  • Live plants and animals
  • Personal documents and irreplaceable items
  • Illegal substances or stolen goods
  • Items with sentimental value only

6. Cancellation Policy

6.1 Customer Cancellation

  • 48+ hours notice: Full refund of deposit
  • 24-48 hours notice: 50% of deposit retained
  • Less than 24 hours: Full deposit retained
  • Same-day cancellation: Full deposit plus cancellation fee

6.2 Company Cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel services due to weather, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, full refund will be provided.

7. Dispute Resolution

7.1 Claims Process

  • All claims must be submitted in writing within 24 hours
  • Include photos and detailed description of damage
  • We will investigate and respond within 5 business days
  • Resolution may include repair, replacement, or monetary compensation

7.2 Mediation

Disputes not resolved through our claims process may be subject to mediation through the Better Business Bureau or other agreed-upon mediator.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy and protect your personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Information collected is used solely for providing moving services and may include:

  • Contact information and addresses
  • Inventory and special handling requirements
  • Payment and billing information
  • Service feedback and communications

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide our services.

9. Modifications and Updates

Solomon Moving reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website and communicated to customers with active bookings.

Continued use of our services after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
